Topic: How should you handle removable drives?

I have a stack of USB drives that have gigabytes of files that I want to tag. However, currently when I tag them they use the current Drive designation which might be e: or f: or g:   etc   this time.
Next time I connect the drive, it may be different.

What is the best way to handle this problem.

Re: How should you handle removable drives?

I can only suggest mapping the drive’s letter manually. You can do it using Computer Management.

Please open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management, in Disk Management select your drive, right click it and open “Change Drive Letter”.

I hope, this will help you.

Sure- that will work but its really not a good solution. Can we put that under future enhancements so that removable volumes can be registered, flagged and perhaps reconnected using a TaggedFrog process. I really don't have a clear idea how this would work but I'm just putting it out there in case someone else has already got a solution.
Thanks

A simple file in the drive's root would help TaggedFrog recognize the removable drive.

Sorry, but I don't understand what do you mean.

Re: How should you handle removable drives?

They probably mean something like a TaggedFrog.txt file that gives the index designation for the removable drive, which TaggedFrog can then use to select the correct group of tags.

Re: How should you handle removable drives?

TaggedFrog 1.1 will include "change drive" feature, I am working on it now. I hope it will help.
